I know how it feels to be affected with acne, it's something nobody should ever experience. I suffered a lot from it, but I can say their are some good products out there, that can help you out. But if you don't want to use those products their are a lot of alternatives or 'acne home remedies' as they call it for acne.

Actually I got most of these tips from one of my family members who had suffered from acne as well (it's in the family).

These are the techniques that worked best for me:

* Drinking a lot of water! Why? Because it nourishes the skin, if you drink enough water you'll see some good results also because your skin is more hydrated.

* Don't smoke, I've seen a lot of people who suffered from acne, and when they began smoking it even got worse. So, don't smoke.

* Wash your skin everyday with a mild acne soap, don't use normal soap because sometimes these can dehydrate your skin, which will have an opposite effect.

* Don't stay in the sun. I must say when you stay in the sun, your acne will go away for a while, but I will just come back even stronger. So, I would not advise you to go in the sun.

* Don't go too much to the sauna, because when you sweat your skin gets more greasy which will infect your skin, resulting in a lot more acne.

* Get enough sleep! You must sleep at least 7-8 hours, this will help you relax. The reason for this is if you don't sleep enough your skin won't have the time to renew itself.

* Stress. Yes, stress can influence your skin condition, making your acne worse.

It's a real nightmare, when you wake up and find a big pimple on your face, just before an important event. There are several techniques to get rid of these white pimples, without harming your skin.

* Never pop a pimple that is still red, this can only make it worse. If you try to pop a pimple that is still red there is a big chance that it will get bigger and it could turn into a big scar. When you want to pop a pimple you should wait until it becomes a little bit white, this way your pimple won't get bigger, but it will disappear after a day or two.

* Always apply warm water on the skin before popping your pimple. This will open up the pores making it a lot easier to get rid of the pimple and it also reduces the chance of having scars.

* When you just popped a pimple try and put an bag of ice on it. This will decrease the swelling and reduce the pain.

* After you popped a pimple you should apply a mild acne soap that doesn't irritate the skin. This will help to restore the skin to it's former glory.

* Try to use benzyl peroxide, which is easily obtainable at your local drugstore. Benzyl peroxide has a really good effect on acne, but it could dry out your skin. So don't use too much of it.

* Another good technique you can use to reduce the redness is toothpaste. It reduces the redness and the irritation. You should put a little bit of it on your face in the evening and then wash it off in the morning.
